Municipal Resources

  • Municipalities have many resources for climate action. We’ll be adding to this page in the coming months.
  • We are strongest when we work together; please consider volunteering for a city advisory committee or related group. Let us know how it’s going!
  • We try to keep our links as up to date as possible; if you find an error, please report it.

 City Committees

Infrastructure, Transportation and Safety Sub-Committee

Lots of work goes on here on walking trails, bike paths and improving cycling infrastructure. Think about electrification of buses, and just all-round better transportation.  Search for minutes of  past mettings  through this  link.

Advisory Committees

The advisory committees below have a focus on the environment. Anyone can attend meetings as an observer. You are encouraged to put your name forward to become an advisory committee member.

Energy and Environment Advisory Committee

Interested in learning more about this committee? You can see complete minutes on the Stratford City website, but we’ve also made up some summaries of E&E meetings to give you an idea of the breadth of work that gets accomplished by two councillors and a varying number of residents. You  are warmly invited to join in; committee applications for committee members are called for in November of every year, but informal working groups are always looking for new members. Contact Casey Riehl to learn more.

Communities in Bloom Advisory Committee

This committee encourages community participation to foster civic pride, environmental protection, and beautification of neighbourhoods, parks, open spaces and streets, with an accompanying focus on environmental awareness and preservation of heritage and culture.

Green Initiatives Awareness Program

This program was developed by the Town’s Green Advisory Committee to highlight our community’s efforts to protect the planet and promote sustainability. Each year, the Town will ask for submissions from a specific group, based on a specific theme. That group will be asked to share details about an initiative they have undertaken to combat climate change.
